PLEASE NOTE THIS SCHEME IS NOW CLOSED

The Scottish Executive intends the Race Equality, Integration and Community Support fund to provide a dynamic and accountable funding framework to help tackle race equality issues across Scotland and help deliver concrete improvements for all Scotland’s communities- minority and majority. Resources have been targeted where the need is greatest. Projects funded are providing a powerful mechanism to deliver lasting change to the face of race equality across Scotland.

The Fund has the following key goals

  • Eliminating racial inequality and disadvantage
  • Combating racism and racist crime
  • Driving up public sector performance on race equality and improving access to and benefit from public services
  • Fostering integration and promoting dialogue and understanding between communities
  • Developing the awareness and capacity of both majority and minority communities to engage with this agenda, to tackle racism and promote race equality
  • Developing the organisational capacity of the Minority Ethnic (ME) voluntary sector and promoting closer working with mainstream services
  • Improving the provision of services and support to minority ethnic communities

All projects funded met at least one of these key goals and as a portfolio contribute collectively to the delivery of these goals.
