Equally Safe (Violence Against Women and Girls) Fund 2017-20

Applications are now closed for the Equally Safe (Violence Against Women and Girls) and Rape Crisis Specific Funds outlined below.

Equally Safe (Violence Against Women and Girls) Fund (ESVAWGF)

The Scottish Government’s ESVAWGF is a new fund which covers the type of work currently being delivered by the existing Violence Against Women and Girls and Children's Services Fund 2016-17, managed under the Violence Against Women and Girls Programme.  The ESVAWGF aims to support work to progress the outcomes in Equally Safe, Scotland’s strategy for preventing and eradicating violence against women and girls.

The fund will assist with the development of measures to tackle all forms of violence against women and girls, including projects that build capacity in local partnerships to strengthen responses to violence and abuse, the delivery of frontline services, or projects which focus on prevention and early intervention.

This is an open and competitive fund. The following organisations are eligible: incorporated third sector organisations; community interest companies; statutory bodies; and partnerships where the lead applicant must be an incorporated Third Sector organisation. Please note that incorporated organisations currently funded under the Children’s Services and Violence Against Women & Girls Funds, and currently funded National Organisations, are eligible to apply to this fund.

Please note that the ESVAWG Fund is a merger of two funds (Violence Against Women & Girls and Children’s Services Funds) currently managed under the Violence Against Women and Girls Programme. Organisations in receipt of funding under these funds are invited to submit an application to the ESVAWG Fund, which aims to support work to progress the outcomes in Equally Safe, Scotland’s strategy for preventing and eradicating violence against women and girls.

As a focus of this funding is to ensure the provision of high quality frontline services, applications from incorporated, third sector organisations that can demonstrate a record of effective and successful delivery on violence against women and girls are likely to be prioritised.

The value of the ESVAWGF 2017–20 is likely to be approximately £6.8 million per annum.  Funding will be available for three periods: 1 July 2017 – 30 June 2018; 1 July 2018 – 30 June 2019; and 1 July 2019 – 31 March 2020.  Priority for funding will be given to projects that can demonstrate a strong track record of delivering effective services.

The deadline for submitting applications to the Equally Safe (VAWG) Fund is midnight on Friday 17 March 2017.  If you have any queries about the funds, please email esenquiries@vaf.org.uk clearly stating which fund you are applying to or telephone VAF on 01383 620780.
