The Voluntary Action Fund each year organises a series of training events and seminars below you'll find a list of the forthcoming events. All events are open to currently funded projects however space is often available for other community and voluntary sector organisations.

Who is it for? Current VSGS funded projects looking to explore the challenges that arise through the management of a diverse range of volunteers and to understand good volunteer management practices to handle these challenges. is it for?
People
who are new to making funding applications or people who want to improve the
applications they make. It will provide participants with an understanding of
what grant giving bodies and funders look for in a successful application and
explain some of the jargon they use.
The workshop is being provided to voluntary
organisations and community groups who have applied for a Community Chest grant from
the Voluntary Action Fund last year.
However, there are a number of additional places available which we
would like to offer to other organisations or community groups with an annual income
of under £25,000.

MANAGING MONEY IN A SMALL ORGANISATION

Who is it for? Treasurers and other
committee members of small voluntary organisations or community groups who are
interested in understanding how to effectively manage their organisations'
money. The course will provide a simple
to use system, covering the records that should be kept and the procedures that
should be used, to look after your organisation's money and minimise the risk of
mistakes or worse.

PREPARING FOR THE FUTURE - CONFERENCE

Who is it for? A conference for all funded organisations, senior policy makers, funders and other practitioners involved and or interested in equality issues. The focus of the conference is to look into the future and will raise the question ‘what next after current funding finishes in March 2011'? Government speakers and key stakeholders from the third sector will be invited to speak. There will be an opportunity for delegates to participate in workshops looking at promotion and marketing, financial management & budget setting, e.g. full cost recovery, preparing funding bids and understanding contracts and tenders.
